Sounds familiar?
Maintaining Drupal has become a costly job, and the following is no longer a surprise
A module your site depends on hasn’t been updated in years.
Editors can update text. Anything else needs a developer ticket.
Your team just scoped the next Drupal upgrade. It doesn’t look pretty.
Your Drupal developer quit, and you can’t find a replacement.
In 2–3 years, another core update drops and the cycle starts again.
Leaving Drupal is the right call.Don’t let a poor migration ruin it
In every Drupal migration, the same three things go wrong. Here’s how we handle each one.
SEO performance
Without URL mapping and redirect validation, years of rankings don’t carry over.
How we prevent it: we audit every URL, validate redirect chains and run a crawl simulation before the DNS switch.
Content integrity
Drupal nodes, taxonomies and Views have no direct WordPress equivalents.
How we prevent it: we inventory every content type, vocabulary, field and View, and validate everything against the source.
Team productivity
A bad migration recreates the developer dependency on a new platform.
How we prevent it: we build around your team’s real publishing workflow, with live training and 30 days of Hypercare.

Architecture
WordPress architecture design
We design your WordPress setup around your content model and publishing workflows. Drupal node types become custom post types. Taxonomy vocabularies become custom taxonomies. Fields migrate using ACF.
- Information architecture document
- Custom post type and taxonomy schema
- Gutenberg block specifications
- Theme and design system plan
- Hosting and infrastructure recommendation

Content Migration
Content migration
Every node, asset, and taxonomy term moves individually, not bulk exported. Scripts handle the volume. Taxonomy relationships, media assets, and field data are all validated against the source before go-live.
- Field-by-field content validation reports
- Media library migration with deduplication
- Taxonomy and author record mapping
- Redirect map, every legacy URL accounted for
- Staged migration with checkpoint reviews

QA
Integration rebuild and QA
Every integration (CRM, analytics, marketing automation, forms) rebuilt and tested under real conditions. Your publishing team goes through their daily operations on a new platform before anything goes live.
- Integration test results
- Performance benchmarks against Drupal baseline
- Editorial workflow testing with your team
- Security and accessibility audit

Launch
Launch and hypercare
We build the new WordPress platform in parallel while your Drupal site stays live. Blue-green deployment with instant rollback at launch. Thirty days of dedicated Hypercare (monitoring, bug fixes, and optimizations) are standard.
- Zero-downtime deployment with rollback capability
- Post-launch performance monitoring
- 30 days of dedicated Hypercare support
- Technical documentation
- Editorial documentation and live training

Frequently asked questions
1. Should I upgrade to Drupal 11 or migrate to WordPress?
Open by default. Honest answer: stay if you need Drupal’s native compliance workflows; migrate if you’re on Drupal from inertia.
2. How much does it cost, and how long does it take?
Most enterprise Drupal migrations range from $50K–$200K and take 3–6 months. Content volume, custom content types, Views and integrations drive the scope. Free 20-hour discovery scopes it before any contract. (Live FAQ says 2–4 months: update it.)
3. We have thousands of nodes. Can you handle our scale?
Yes. Our client Cox Automotive had thousands of pages across a multisite network. We migrated in weeks with 2x Core Web Vitals improvement. Videojet had 12,000+ pages across 28 sites in 22 languages. Content volume alone doesn’t determine complexity. Its structure does. That’s what we scope in discovery.
4. We rely heavily on Views. How do you handle them?
Views don’t have a direct equivalent in WordPress, so each one gets rebuilt. During discovery we go through every View on your site and determine the best approach: custom WP_Query logic, Gutenberg block templates, or purpose-built plugins for complex filtered displays. You’ll know what’s involved before development begins.
5. Is WordPress secure enough for enterprise/government use?
WordPress isn’t insecure, with problems coming from poor implementation. WordPress VIP provides SOC 2 compliance, FedRAMP Moderate authorization, and 24/7 security monitoring. rtCamp is SOC 2 compliant and enforces controlled plugin governance on every project. NASA and the White House run on WordPress. Both switched from Drupal, by the way.
